Pokemon UNITE's Asian Games 2026 final is Sunday 27 September. JESU's session table converted to IST, the 11-team field, India's squad and where to watch.
The Pokemon UNITE final at Asian Games 2026 is on Sunday 27 September 2026 at Aichi Sky Expo, Tokoname, Japan. The organiser’s session for the final tournament through the final runs 09:00 to 20:00 JST, which is 05:30 to 16:30 IST; the gold-medal match start time is not given on the organiser’s page. Group stage is 25 and 26 September.
That is the Pokemon UNITE Asian Games 2026 final date and time in India, as far as anyone has published it. The rest is where the numbers come from.
When is the Pokemon UNITE Asian Games 2026 final, and what time is it in India?
The source is the Japan eSports Union (JESU), which runs the Japanese side of the esports programme and keeps a session-by-session table on its Asian Games 2026 page. This desk read that page on 19 September 2026. In the rows this desk read, it lists three Pokemon UNITE sessions and no others.
IST is JST minus three hours and thirty minutes. The conversion below is this desk’s arithmetic applied to JESU’s windows.
| Date | Session (per JESU) | JST | IST |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fri 25 Sept 2026 | Group stage | 10:00 to 20:00 | 06:30 to 16:30 |
| Sat 26 Sept 2026 | Group stage | 10:00 to 20:00 | 06:30 to 16:30 |
| Sun 27 Sept 2026 | Final tournament through the final | 09:00 to 20:00 | 05:30 to 16:30 |
Two things the table does not say. JESU publishes the session window, not the match order inside it, so the gold-medal match could sit anywhere in that 11-hour block. And the page does not describe how the group stage is drawn or how many teams advance, so the format between Friday and Sunday is not on the record yet.
Where is Pokemon UNITE being played at the Asian Games?
Every esports event at these Games is at Aichi Sky Expo, formally the Aichi International Exhibition Center, Exhibition Hall D, in Tokoname city, Aichi prefecture, per JESU. The esports programme runs 23 September to 2 October 2026, with some events starting on 22 September: 11 medal events across 13 titles, per the same page.
Pokemon UNITE is listed there as a team event on Nintendo Switch and mobile, six players and one coach per side.
How many teams are in the Pokemon UNITE field?
JESU’s page does not print the field. TalkEsport’s 18 September schedule piece does, in a per-title table: Pokemon UNITE, 27 September, 11 entrants. Across the whole esports programme TalkEsport counts 23 nations entered, against roughly 45 Olympic Council of Asia members at the wider Games.
How those eleven reached Aichi is told in our which countries qualified for Pokemon UNITE piece; this post only carries the count.
Is India playing, and who is on the squad?
Yes. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports cleared India’s 15-member esports contingent through a sanction order issued on 22 August, and the squad competes in four titles: League of Legends, Pokemon UNITE, eFootball and Puyo Puyo Champions, per TalkEsport. We covered the clearance when it happened in Fifteen Players, Four Titles.
The UNITE six is captained by Adnan Mohammed Badshah of Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, alongside Reuben Godfrey Fernandes, Sai Krishna Nalluri, Dipjyoti Laxman Nath, Rudra Narayan Nayak and Deepkumar Vipulbhai Patel, per the same TalkEsport report. For a player-by-player read on the roster and what it is up against, see our assessment of India’s Pokemon UNITE team.
Where can I watch Asian Games 2026 esports in India?
JESU’s page lists two organiser streams under its broadcast section: Japanese commentary on the TBS Sports official YouTube channel, and English under OCA / Asian Games TV. JESU posted a news item dated 14 September 2026 on the esports stream distribution. Availability in India is not stated on that page, and this desk has not checked it.
For Indian television and OTT, Esquire India’s Asian Games schedule guide, updated 17 September and read by this desk on 19 September, says the Games are on Sony Sports TV Network with streaming on SonyLIV, and that SonyLIV carries an official listing for the 20th Asian Games. The body this desk read has no esports section, so the Sony route is confirmed for the Games, not specifically for the esports hall, and the organiser’s English stream is the one route named by the organiser itself.

The short version
Set the alarm for 06:30 IST on Friday and Saturday, 05:30 IST on Sunday 27 September, and watch the organiser’s page for the match order, which it has not published as of this writing. Crick Patrol covers this the way it covers every LAN: as competition, with the numbers taken from the organisers’ own tables. No odds, no picks, no fantasy-cash tie-ins here or anywhere on this site; six Indian players on a Switch in a hall in Tokoname is the whole story.
