Pokemon UNITE Asian Games 2026: Which Countries Qualified?
Four nations have named a Pokemon UNITE team for Aichi-Nagoya 2026: Japan, Korea, India, Singapore; Hong Kong has a selection team. How each was picked.
Pokemon UNITE at Asian Games 2026 has no open qualifier bracket on any page this desk read. Nations enter by naming a national team. From federation announcements read on 14 September 2026, at least four have done so: Japan, South Korea, India and Singapore; Hong Kong, China fielded a selection team in a March exhibition, with no Games roster read.
No page we could open lists the full UNITE field: Liquipedia sat behind a bot wall on 14 September, and Wikipedia’s qualification table, as read, has qualifier rows for five titles but none for UNITE. So the honest answer to which countries qualified for Pokemon UNITE at Asian Games 2026 is a table of who has announced a squad, not a count of the bracket. Any nation missing below is unread, not absent.
Why “qualified” is the wrong word for UNITE
KeSPA’s candidate announcement, as reported by Inven Global, says only its Identity V and Honor of Kings teams go on to Asian Games regional qualifiers in June. UNITE is not on that list. Every nation below followed the same shape: a national body picks, announces, sends.
Which countries qualified for Pokemon UNITE at Asian Games 2026? The nations with a team named
This desk read the JeSU release as carried by Saiga NAK, Inven Global’s report on KeSPA’s list and the Singapore Esports Association’s roster page on 14 September 2026. India’s row is this site’s own reporting; Hong Kong, China’s is the one line the JeSU release gives it.
| Nation | Selection route | Announced | Players named | Status as read |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Japan | Federation selection via ASIA esports EXPO / JeSU | 17 March 2026 | b1, Mame, ak1, py1, Ma・sh1o (all FENNEL), piui (REJECT); coach TON・GG | “Final members” per the release |
| South Korea | Two-team KeSPA selection tournament, won by T1 | 18 May 2026 (report dated 17 May) | Seram, Pisterio, ePe, Subeen, Comi | Candidates; June final approval not read |
| India | ESFI selection, cleared in the 26 August sanction order | 26 August 2026 (ANI wire, as reported here) | Six players, captain Adnan Mohammed Badshah; coach Zeren Wang | Cleared contingent |
| Singapore | SGEA national selection process | 30 June 2026 | Wayne “Rebongs” Chua, Travis “Rime” Fong, Tay “Ice” Leong Jie, Chuang “Raithe” Fu Yuan, Bryan “Solo” Khoo, Freddy “Kamiru.” Lim (sub); coach Deon Chua | Announced roster |
| Hong Kong, China | Not read | Not read | None read | “Selection team” played Japan in a 22 March exhibition, per the JeSU release |
Japan: six from FENNEL and REJECT, picked in March
The JeSU release dated 17 March 2026 names six players and a coach, five from FENNEL and one from REJECT, and books a 22 March exhibition against the Hong Kong, China selection team at ASIA esports EXPO. One caution: its lead prints 19 September, the Games’ opening day, as the selection date, an evident translation slip; we go with the 17 March dateline.
South Korea: T1 are candidates, not a confirmed roster
Per Inven Global’s report, two teams entered the UNITE selection tournament and T1 took first place. That put five names into a 36-player candidate pool across nine medal events, objections open until 28 May, final roster due in June after Korean Sport & Olympic Committee approval. This desk has not read that June confirmation, so T1 stay “candidates” above.
India: six names, a June result, an August order
The six-player squad we assessed on 11 September was named by ESFI and cleared inside the 15-player, four-title contingent sanctioned on 26 August. Its one international marker is a runner-up finish among 11 national teams at an AESF UNITE event in Bangkok in June. No page read says Bangkok fed into any Games entry, so we do not call it a qualifier.
Singapore: five starters, a sub and a coach, named 30 June
SGEA’s release of 30 June 2026 says Singapore competes in two titles at Aichi-Nagoya, Pokemon UNITE and Gran Turismo 7, after what it calls a national selection process: five UNITE starters, a substitute and coach Deon Chua.
Is Pokemon UNITE in the Asian Games 2026?
Yes. Pokemon UNITE is one of the 11 esports medal events at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, listed on the Wikipedia page this desk read as a Nintendo Switch title for teams of six. The esports programme runs 23 September to 2 October 2026 in Tokoname.
How many players are on a Pokemon UNITE Asian Games team?
Six, per Wikipedia’s event table as read. Japan announced six players plus a coach, India’s sanction order lists six, and Singapore named five starters, a substitute and a coach. KeSPA’s candidate list for South Korea prints five T1 names; the final roster, unread by this desk, may add a sixth.
How did India qualify for Pokemon UNITE at the Asian Games?
India did not play an open qualifier. The Esports Federation of India named a six-player squad, captain Adnan Mohammed Badshah, cleared in the sports ministry’s sanction order of 26 August, as this site reported. The same six finished runner-up among 11 national teams at an AESF UNITE event in Bangkok in June.
No page read gives a UNITE match day inside the 23 September to 2 October window, so we print none. Nine days out, watch for that day, a published field, and Korea’s final six. Like every national squad this site tracks, these teams get the roster sheet and the bracket from us, never an odds board; the grind is the story.
